yeah the pink stuff is useful, and the chances of you getting electrocuted are slim if you don't get into the junction boxes...

Depends on how old the house is. Some old houses have bare wires in the insulation. *Shudder*

I hate renos on old houses.

Uh oh!

In my attic there's a lot of wires OUTSIDE OF insulation.
Actually there's outside everything (in fact you can't even see any insulation) -- they're like along walls and ceilings and just going through the air.
(Great attic, eh?)
None of the wires really look bare. But I figure you never know.

Larchmont, who's gonna get somebody in to take a look at it.

My brother-in-law's house had bare wires running in his garage.

My dad was trying to rewire it for a new garage door opener and he was wondering what the heck those wires were. He found out that those were the wires carrying the juice from the house to the garage. Single bare wire.

Scary as heck, considering it was relatively easy to get to and touch.

any way if the wires are bare, they should be far enough to not touch that easily and have insulaters on them. anyways larch it only tickles and hurts for a little while

That's about what I thought.
As I said on the attic thread, I once did hit a live wire.

Larchmont, who keeps forgetting this isn't the attic thread.
