"Picked up my stock, 195k mile 04 6 speed back just before thanksgiving. It is my 1st K Series car, 3rd Honda and 54th (I think, maybe 55th) car I've owned. Don't make fun, but 36 were first generation Neons.
I am an automotive Tech, in my 30s and have 3 kids, so this car was a good fit for a daily driver.
Was stock, minus the Blox shift knob (And Innovative 60a mounts) when I got it. It needed love for sure. Windshield leaked, RR wheel speed sensor and RF lock actuator didn't work, and the Navi was non functioning. The parking brake was weird as well.
So, a Kenwood DVD player, 2 door lock actuators (LF broke right after replacing the RF), A WSS, LR parking brake cable, 4 tires, 4 calipers, rotors, PowerStop pads and Stoptech stainless braided hoses, I'm a clutch install away from a good driving car.
It needs suspension in a bad way. Coilovers, control arm bushings, wheels/sticky tires and a real alignment.
Also has an intermittent P0420, so that tells me it really wants that PLM header soon as well."
On the way home after buying it:
Got a little more done since my intro post.
Got the Koni Yellows installed along with Eibach Pro Kit springs and all new dust boots, bump stops and mounts. Also put a stock replacement clutch in and repaired the improperly installed Innovative 60a Mounts that were installed just before I picked the car up.
I am very happy with the way the car rides and drives now! The old clutch was trash, didn't release properly and the pedal was terrible. The new clutch along with fresh Syncromesh makes it a whole different car. I also couldn't be happier with the Koni/Pro Kit combo. Just the right amount of low with a fantastic ride quality for a daily, as well as a huge improvement in handling.
The P0420 was no longer clearing itself, so I emptied the contents of the converter and removed the stock resonator as well. I was disappointed at the lack of added sound after this. And the removal of the resonator for the airbox. Looking to get the PLM header ASAP.
Also looking for a lower mileage K24A2 to throw in and go through this one, as it consumes oil at a staggering pace. (a lot is due to my driving)
Found these under the spare tire.
