2008 TSX: engine no start, then start
2008 TSX Auto, 81K miles, 55 degrees F.
Two hours into my drive home for Thanksgiving, I stopped for a bathroom break at a state park's facility along the road. When I got back into the car, the engine started and ran for a half second and stalled. Several subsequent attempts to start failed. All lights appeared normal, the starter turned the engine normally, but the engine just wouldn't "fire" (start).
I didn't have a scan tool, DVOM, or anything but a small travel tool box. I pulled every fuse in the under-hood fuse box, and all were OK. Checked the large harness connector on the right side of the firewall, and all of the contacts appeared to be OK. After exhausting all of my available trouble shooting, I tried to start it once again and it fired right up. No problem on subsequent starts...everything worked as advertised.
There were MIL lights illuminated. I checked the codes with my scan tool when I arrived home, but it was clear. I'm puzzled...
It almost felt like the fuel pump relay was stuck, then released. Has anyone experienced anything like this?
Should I buy several relays (fuel, main, etc.) to keep in the car in case of emergency? Any suggestions on which ones I should always keep on hand?
