If you're going to do a stock rebuild save your money and just find another k24a2 - ideally from a 06-08.

Even with your dealer discount you're going to be spending WAY more than what it'd cost to buy a used longblock. k24a2's are going for $500-$850 all day.

If you want to plan for boost and are going to build a stock-ish motor I'd look into ARP head studs, a new timing chain/tensioner, a 45* VTC, and a type-s oil pump as a minimum. K motors are quite sturdy and can take a decent amount of boost. You can make 400-450whp all day on a stock motor and it'll still be very reliable/driveable.
