I’m a little new to this TSX building, picked up an 04 last fall and have gotten the genesis calipers and the fast brakes rotor shim kit.

What I’m wondering now is if these wheels will clear without spacers. (I know when I test fit my stock wheels over brake components installed, it was difficult to get an accurate measurement, but it appeared as if I needed at least 20-25 mm more offset in the spoke of the wheel, not necessarily the hub/wheel offset. To me that’s what makes finding moderate offset/sized wheels that are practical for daily commuting difficult with this setup. There needs to be a page for nothing but cl9 rim/tire fitment options with the use of the genesis/rogue brake upgrade.

I’m anxious to get the brake components installed completely and in use because it was so disheartening to have to remove the brakes after test fitting 😿.

Unrelated to the use of these specific components we’re discussing, but still slightly relevant to the topic at hand...

This is a pic of a friend of mines g37 with 19” Meisters. The curvature of the spokes are designed specifically for this car’s brake hardware fitment I feel like. Wish I had a better pic, because in person and up close, it’s literally just enough clearance for a credit card/business card, which is exactly what the guy at fast brakes told me over the phone. Brian I think is his name.

Still no input from anyone...? Come on!

I’m either going to order one of these wheels or look for something suitable (affordable for me) that has a +20-25 offset.

The Avid wheel I posted above is just not enough offset I feel like. Trying to avoid ordering one, test fitting the brake components again, then re-installing my stock hardware since this is my daily, just to figure out this wheel clearance thing.

What I do realize is it’s all about the geometry and design of the spokes of the rim. You could have negative offset wheels and if the spokes are convex it may not clear the caliper. The concavity of the rims spokes are key to proper clearance. The spokes on my stock wheels are basically straight (not concave or convex), and trying to get an accurate measurement of how much rim clearance it needs to fit the Genesis caliper is difficult unless you jig the wheel to the vehicle somehow and ensure that both x and y axes of the rotor match those of the wheel for measurement, but by my eyeballing, a 1” spacer would allow me to use my wheels.

Not the route I’m planning to take. The inside of the barrel of the stock rim is so close to the caliper that sticky weights on the inside of the rim would get knocked off most likely.

Im having this problem as well. I looked into the Fast Wheels Dimes which are pretty similar to the Avids that you posted, but haven't had a clear response. All i know since Mitsubishi Evo 8/9 BBS and Evo X GSR wheels fit the Genesis Brembos without a spacer on our TSX, is to look for wheels that fit those cars. I am running Nt03s 9.5 +40 and I have to run a 1" spacer in the front which is really killing my tires really fast.
So you’re saying that stock Evo wheels work with this brake setup on our cars?

Also, are the wheels you mentioned above the ones in the pic from previous post? Either way, I have a question for you. I’m curious to know how much horizontal clearance you have between the spokes of your wheel and the caliper. Maybe with that info I can get an idea of wheel spacing and get a perfect fitting wheel the first time.

I’m going to make a complete build thread with details like these included when I finally finish/get close to finished with this brake upgrade.
