I was fortunate enough to recently have a 2004 Acura TSX (5-speed auto, 4cyl) fall into my lap. I was going to sell it, but it's grown on me, so I think I might keep it. It has about 203,000 and no service records. I'm not really a car guy, so aside from fluid replacement and brakes, are there any parts of the car I need to specifically check out (like the clutch and wheel rods)? Also, are there any problems specific to the 04 TSX? I've heard some things about the A/C, the power steering, and the gearbox, but honestly, it's all greek to me. Any help would definitely be appreciated.

Oh also sometimes the VSA and the Orange "!" light will come on randomly and stay on until the car is restarted, and then it will go away. Is that normal/something to look at?

04-05 can consume oil, A/C compressors blow up, PS rack leaks, brakes are undersized, clutch pedal can crack causing engagement issues, radio display burns out, door lock actuators can go, axles have a tendency to vibrate/shake at ~60mph, I'm sure there's more but I'm blanking at the moment.

As far as the VSA - hook it up to a scan tool and see what it's saying next time it does that.

For the VSA light you'll have to get a special computer / scanner to read the codes a normal OBDii reader will not work. It can be possibly its tripping and when you turn the car off then on it resets itself and don't see that it had a fault at one time.
