first and foremost I tried to research the question i am asking so please dont tell me to search it . what else do i need to do before i change my clutch. should i replace my shift cables. or bring it into a transmission place for them to troubleshoot. i think it might be my throwout bearing/pressure plate and if i have to i dont mind replacing. Im just annoyed i cant redline and i dont want to further grind my gears. thanks all

my problems
-grinds when i go into reverse
-grinds randomly when i push into 2nd or 4th gear
-cant redline 1st and shift into 2nd gear

my fixes (did not help)
-replaced master /slave cylinders.
-checked my clutch pedal for breaks
-flushed fluids on cmc
-adjusted the clutch pedal.

I had this exact problem and changing my clutch (at 100K miles) totally fixed it. I guess it was a problem with the pressure plate as I researched it an many people said it's most likely a bad pressure plate.

BTW, you didn't mention changing MTF fluid. Have you done that?

cg1120 i bled the clutch pedal by pumping and holding and someone relieving the bleeder several times .. rinse and repeat

allen 1090 it has some kinda lightly sounding whine
I found it best to pump once and hold the pedal down then have a partner release the fluid at the bleeder rather than repeatedly pumping. But it sounds like your method should work fine.

The pressure plate could be an issue if the little "fingers" have deformed and are no longer able to fully release the plate from the clutch disk.
