Does anyone know for sure which grease to use inside a steering rack. I'm venturing into fixing one and I can't find any info other than "use extreme pressure grease".
I imagine it's a black or gray.

I would assume it’s not different than the grease that sits in the axle boot. If you mean inside inside the rack they use PS fluid not grease.

Maybe. I just got STP, MOLY- extreme pressure grease. I have 0 hopes but, the rebuilt kit was cheap and I'm basically just farming experience points from doing the job. I expect to buy a new rack.
