You could run a 235 on a 7.5" rim. All depends on how much you like or dislike the wheel/tire sticking out past the fender.....in any event, you really need to be lowered to look right with any aftermarket rim.....

18x7.5 will protect your rim from curb rash better too. The tire sidewall of a 235-40-18 on a 18x8 rim will sit pretty flush with the edge of the rim.

I also have 235/40/18, but on a 7 inch rim. Not quite ideal, but have no problems to speak of. Mine stick out slightly, which I like the look of,(chunky) but I do have the occasional rock thrown up at the side of my car. Oh yeah, and as AlterZgo says the curb protection is much improved. I have brushed up on more than one at drive-thru windows with no damage to date.

hi guys sorry i m a car dummy and i just have few questions

As mentioned above, 18 x 7.5 rims would be fine with 235/40/18 tires

so,
Are there 235/40/18 all-seasonal tires?? winter tires??

iif there are, which brand would be good?

There's a Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25 I think.
All season there's the Toyo, and a Khumo.

thinking about getting 18x8 rims. the 235-40-18 tires are just right, correct?
what offset should the rim be?
