2004 tsx mpg suffering and running hot after cai

I just recently installed a dc sports cold air intake and after driving it for a bit I noticed the temp was a bit over the middle and that the bay was pretty hot. Also as I’ve been driving it I noticed I can barely be going up the street and it’ll say I’ve driven 2 miles and it’s going up by the second as I drive. Ik the cai was gonna cause lower mpg but not to this degree. I need some input on what could be causing these two issues and what I should do thank you

That shouldn't raise the coolant temp by any notable degree in daily driving. Make sure the fan still runs, maybe it got disconnected?

The fan is still connected it had turned on when I was checking in the hood. The car has just been running really hot lately warming up only takes like 2 min now. And my mpg is ass
Never heard of any CAI install causing the issues that you are experiencing. It would be helpful if you had a second pair of eyes inspect your install. The info, pics, video, etc., that you've provided make it extremely hard to determine what the root cause is.

If you feel that you installed it correctly then maybe you should treat it as an overheating issue and troubleshoot it as such and not as a CAI install issue.

Of course you can always contact DC Sports. If anyone else has had the same issues after an install, they would be probably be the best ones to know what the cause may be. Makes sense.

I contacted them and they basically told me that it shouldn’t be happening and don’t know why but I’m going to have someone take another look and sort of see what they can tell from the issues I’m experiencing
Make sure the fan cycles with coolant temp.

It might only be running with the AC, which will turn it on regardless of coolant temp.

Turn the AC completely off and make sure the fan cycles. If the temp gauge moves above the normal position and the fan's not on then there's an electrical issue with that circuit. Could be the coolant temp sensor.

I'd also try disconnecting ad reconnect any electrical connectors you touched or even might have bumped while doing ther CAI install. Did you open up any coolant lines? Might have an air bubble.
