Hi,

I had contacted ATEQ about there home use TPMS programming tool. In response, I am being told that my car (2012 TSX) does not need the tool and that the TPMS system will "auto learn" the new TPMS sensors.

Can anyone confirm this to be true? My plan is to swap out my wheels (with TPMS sensors) and tires for the winter time.

Thanks!

Wes

yes its true. you can move them and after a few miles the car will learn them.

you could also buy another set , be sure they are compatible, and you could just swap the wheels. thats what i did,

Yeap no need to program it so if a dealer says they need to "program" it they're ripping you off.

eBay or Amazon for the sensors. Sometimes you can find OEM ones for less than $100 off take off wheels. And no need to program

RDX TPMS sensors will work for the tsx.

oem tsx = 42753-TL2-A52 list price = 77.xx

12 rdx uses 42753-STK-A04 supercedes A03 list price is 33.xx

Looking at a set of wheels on the "other" forum; does anyone know if TL (not sure of the year) sensors will work on my 2013 TSX?
I have only heard of people buying rdx sensors because they are cheaper.

find out the year TL they come from and get the acura part number

then match that to this 42753-STK-A04

if its the same then it will work.

if different then NO/

I picked up a set of 1st gen TSX OEM wheels with TPMS ... (I assume the TPMS is OEM.)

I put them on my '11 TSX (which had the error codes displayed as I was running steelies with no TPMS), and they automagically learned the new TPMS. Yay!

Therefore, yes, the TSX is able to auto-learn (at least in my case.)
