I have a 213 i4....suspension is stock.
I'm going up 1 from my stock wheels of 225 50R 17 and i like this 18 inch rim. It measures 18 x 8 as apposed to the stock 17 x 7.5.
The stock has an offset of +55 i believe and this 18 inch wheel drops to +50.

If I want my ride quality to remain as close to stock as possible ...My question is what tire specs do i go with?

Is 225 45R 18's ideal?
What about 235 40R 18?

Go with the 225/45R18 - they will fit best.

That's what I use with my 18" TLX wheels (18x7.5 50 offset) on my 2012 TSX Tech.

I used this tool to pick my tires:

https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/?wheel1=225-50-17X7.5ET55&wheel2=235-45-18X8ET50&fcl=50mm&wcl=30mm&scl=50mm&sr=0mm
