Iight, I own a 06 6spd TSX. Reflashed the ECU w/ Hondata before I replaced the motor. (anti-freeze somehow got in my block and was the motor was deteriorating.

The thinig is, I just had my motor replaced with a JDM tsx motor which is from 04-05 because apparently Japan never improved their motors. US apparently has the upgraded 06-08 Aggresive cams and better ported heads and stuff.

Anyway, the issue I'm having now is, When I try putting my car into reverse, it acts like I don't have the clutch fully depressed. But before I had the work done, it was fine.

It feels as though, after fully pressing the clutch, and switching the the gear from N to R it has a grinding sound and feel to it, Almost as though if you were still moving forward slightly w/o coming to a complete stop and trying to put it in reverse. But when I place this thing in reverse, I'm doing it from a stand still.

Any word of advice on this...

I have the same "crunch" sound when going into reverse, even from a dead stop. I find that putting it into 1st then back into reverse helps, but I still get the sound every so often. I am due for a MTF change ASAP - will be doing it this weekend actually. I hope that helps. If it does, I'll let you know.

even thou you have the clutch disengaged (pedal alway the way down) the clutch disc will still be spinning a little bit, try waiting about 10 seconds after you disengage the clutch before you put the transaxle into the reverse, it used to happen to to me a lot and a buddy told me to try that and since then i haven't had that problem. GL with your problem hope this helps out a little bit

this problem has never happened to me before. but again, it does it even at first star up and all day now. In order for me to put it in reverse, i have to turn the car off, place it in Reverse and i'm good to go, and it come out of Reverse fine.

Some added information I found out today while driving. I noticed the shifting seemed to be a lil ruff. ok, what i mean is, until my rpm was at about 3k on down to 2.5k the shift took some time to slide into its gear, so i wonder if it could just be my pressure plate or maybe even my syncros

hey, I seen the video, and read the thread. The grinding in the video is almost like mine, except, mine won't go into Reverse unless I cut the car completely off. So what I get is the GRIND and more grind with no success of getting it to go into gear.. Also Im scared to force it into gear. I done that once in my RSX and found myself replacing my clutch(3rd gear was stuck and wouldn't let me in. so I ramd it in as hard as I could kuz I got pissed at it) worst mistake eva made.

Reporting back: Changed the MTF completely this past weekend. It made normal upshifting smoother, but the reverse CRUNCH is still there (no better at all) and getting it into first gear can sometimes catch and take a second stab to get it to go in.

Wondering if it's time for a new clutch... :(
