It's straight bolt-on; the new struts are already built. The kit even comes with instructions including torque values.
Last year when I installed my A-Spec, my wife and I had a three month old, and it was very busy at work, so I just had no time to do it. (Anyone with a baby will know what I'm talking about
.) I paid the dealer $300 to do it.
This year, I have a little more free time, so when I put on my Tein Flex coilovers, I decided to do it myself, and it went very quickly (the Flexes are built as well). I got it done leisurely in an afternoon, including the Comptech rear sway. It helps a lot to have a second person to start the nuts from the top, but you could use a jack from the bottom to hold them in place. A lot of people are concerned about rear seat removal; it's not the rear seat but the seat bottom, which comes out with one bolt, and then one more bolt to remove each rear side bolster. Maybe two minutes-very easy.
