A/T Hondata Reflash review

WOW! First thing i noticed about the reflash was how much more sensitive the gas is. Drove around a mile or 2 to warm up the engine, and then of course went straight to WOT. Torque delivery very smooth, noticed increase in lower rpm torque, and once you get to those high rpms the car pulls alot harder then ever before. I love it so far! I drive around in ss mode all the time, so whenever im just driving in 4th gear, before i would downshift to 3rd everytime to gain some speed to pass someone. Now with the reflash it seems i can just stay in 4th gear and still have some good acceleration. Today i did alot and i mean ALOT of driving. I took the car at stop a few times, power braked it, and let off, nearly little weal sqeak, and the acceleration was very smooth but i can feel the extra torque that previously wasnt there. The car is more more jumpy i guess i can say than it was ever before, so i would consider that low end gains also. 2nd gear seems to last forever sometimes though, getting right up to 7600 rpm. A previous a/t tsx was in my passenger seat keep saying how it was freaking him out because he watched the rpm climb past 7400 wondering when the hell i was gonna shift. Kinda fun
I would have to give a big :thumbsup: for hondata reflash!

I could be that guy...that's way too high for my stomach.

so you tested on full A/T mode yet ? how was it like in "normal everyday" driving (RPM < 4500) ?
The only time i switched back over to normal a/t mode was just one time before i went wot. I shifted right before redline, so i said screw that and never went back to normal a/t mode again. Ever since i got my tsx i drove it with SS mode. At less than 4500, the car is a little more jumpy being more sensitive making it feel a little better for acceleration. Less lag when you hit the gas. The torque kicks in nice and smoothly and you go. But what hondata is really about is the high rpm gains. Thats all i expected, so recieving slight lower rpm gains came as a suprise for me.
:drool1: I need Hondata... thanks for the write up, sounds good
it will soon be mine...
1 thing i did notice though from the A/T reflash that is diff than the M/T reflash is the drop in power right at the switch over point with vtec. When at WOT lets say in 2nd gear, right when you hit 5k rpm and vtec switches over, you can feel a slight drop in tq or hp that almost makes the car feel like its hesitating for a sec. I wrote a post on another site, and Hondata replied to me saying that it could pissobly be because i dont have headers. Its not that big of a drop in power but its something i just noticed. Another member with the reflash from the other tsx site agreed with me on the same thing. So now i need to find some1 that has a/t with intake and headers to see if it does the same thing or fixes it.
Thanks for the review, Triz ...

nice nice... is there an official site for the hondata? or where to they sell them?
you know the dyno charts how it says that the whp for auto tsx stock is 135.9. Is that true. Autos are that much slower that MT?
Sweet! How did I miss this thread. Please keep us up to date about the possible header fix. I just need to find $600 to do this! :D

BTW, here is the Hondata website:
http://www.hondata.com/
Now I ain't no expert but,
Automatic TSX dyno from the hondata website - www.Hondata.com

The 135 HP is not peak, it is the point where there is the biggest gain in HP from hondata reflash over stock (at about 6,000 rpm).

Based on that dyno chart it looks like the peak HP goes from 160 stock to about 167 with hondata.

Am I close? (sorry about large size of img...)
