Here is the detailed info on the TSX recall for the trunk wiring harness. The recall begins October 1st 2004.

Make : ACURA Model : TSX Year : 2004
NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number : 04V429000 Recall Date : SEP 02, 2004
Component: EXTERIOR LIGHTING:TAIL LIGHTS
Potential Number Of Units Affected : 40060
Summary:
ON CERTAIN PASSENGER CARS, THE WIRE HARNESS LOCATED IN THE TRUNK HINGE AREA IS NOT ADEQUATELY PROTECTED AND OVER TIME COULD BE DAMAGED WHEN THE TRUNK IS OPENED AND CLOSED.
Consequence:
A DAMAGED HARNESS CAN CAUSE A BLOWN FUSE, A SHORT CIRCUIT AND IT CAN RESULT IN A LOSS OF LICENSE PLATE LIGHTS, BACK-UP LIGHTS AND TAIL LIGHT FUNCTION. LOSS OF A TAIL LIGHT COULD REDUCE VISIBILITY AND INCREASE THE RISK OF A VEHICLE CRASH.
Remedy:
DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE HARNESS AND IF ANY DAMAGE IS FOUND, THE HARNESS WILL BE REPLACED. IF NO DAMAGE IS FOUND, DEALERS WILL INSTALL CORRUGATED PLASTIC TUBING OVER THE HARNESS TO PREVENT FUTURE DAMAGE. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN OCTOBER 1, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT HONDA AT 1-800-999-1009.
Notes:
HONDA RECALL NO. P45. CUSTOMERS CAN ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION’S AUTO SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-888-DASH-2-DOT (1-888-327-4236).

Another sticky worthy thread. :)

I got the recall notice in the mail today.
haven't got mine yet
I didn't get mine until early December.

Of course, in the act of fixing the thing (as well as doing my 10,000 mile maintenance), they somehow managed to make my driver door window regulator go noisy, and now they have to fix it.

Maybe my parents were right - taking the car into the dealership is just an easy way to get something broken. :)
I finally...FINALLY got mine on Friday!!!
Has anybody else had this: Since mine was fixed, there's some resistance to the trunk door when I close it -- kinda sluggish and slightly noisy.

Not to the extent that it's any obvious problem, but just makes me wonder if something's wrong. Of course I'll mention it to Acura service next time I bring the car in, but it's not something to make me take an extra trip there.....
I have. I'm going to be asking them that when I bring the car in for the window regulator.

I took a quick look and it seems like the harness is rubbing somewhere and causing a bit of friction. That alone sounds a little dicey.

Very interesting -- Rev and I both have it.

Let's see who else does and doesn't have this as a result of the fix.
I actually got this recall last week.

Larch/Ren...I have this same issue with my 2005. Specifically the left hand side. I picked it up the first week of January and it's been back to Acura twice already. The first time the wire for the rear wing spoiler was hanging down and the rubbing was terrible...they fixed the wire hanging down, but not so much the rubbing. The second time I brought it in they told me it was from the piece of carpet that surrounds the hinge. When the guy was looking at it I happened to see the plastic flex loom (Acura calls this corrugated plastic in their recal) over the wires, so the recal was done. Anyhow...he seemed to make it a little better than it was...but it's still noisy and the friction is still there. So, I dunno...more annoying than anything...but considering how much I use my trunk for my laptop....it might be an issue again if I notice any fraying. Even friction against flex loom will create a hole and then move onto the wire. Flex loom is only another level of protection for the wire's outer plastic jacket. Seems to me that Acura needs to figure out a plastic clip solution under the hinge to keep those wires out of the way.

Kind of annoying since I bought this car brand new.
