Hey, so I’m looking to make my 2009 TSX louder, I have a shop that is going to do the exhaust work for me but I was told if I want a really nice professional sound I need to get aftermarket mufflers that fit my car. I’m not very knowledgeable unfortunately when it comes to cars and I was hoping I could get some suggestions for mufflers and where to find them that aren’t expensive.

you can buy cheap aftermarket mufflers at a lot of places. Here in Canada you can buy them at Canadian Tire but in the states you could probably find them at AutoZone. You'll have to measure the pipe diameter of your car and the length of the muffler plus if there's offset in where the pipe enters and exits you'll have to take that into consideration as well. I know on my 04 if I wanted to make it louder I could just take the resonator and pre-muffler off and replace it with a length of 2 inch pipe, it would be plenty loud, I don't know if the exhaust systems are the same.

Thank you I appreciate it

I went for a 2.5 inch cat back splitting to two 2.25 inch duals. The shop was going to leave the resonator in but decided to take it out because it was still quiet. Centre muffler was removed. I was glad they did that. They talked me in to getting hurricane mufflers (popular here in Australia) instead of electronically controlled units because they said they would be low quality. Well the hurricane mufflers rusted out in under two years. I replaced them with cheaper mufflers that sound better (louder) and they have lasted about 5 years now. A system made for the tsx is going to be pricey and mild steel has a nice sound imo.
