Checked the manual and tried the search but don't know if anyone ever asked b4.

Any simple way to stop the ringing indicating the lights are still on after you take key out of ignition? With the auto lights off feature, thought there might be a chance this can be done.

I don't beleive that it is possible to eliminate the "lights on" chime.
According to the Elex Troubleshooting manual, the Combo Switch Control unit sends a serial data signal to the Multiplex Integrated Control Unit signalling that the lights sw is on. The MICU also gets an input from the Ignition Key Sw, signalling that the key has been removed.
The MICU then computes this data and sends a digital data signal to the gauges control module, which in turn, chimes "the Lights On" ding.
I hope this info helps you out
Cheers...........
