Well, its about that time to change my tranny fluid and I came across ATF DW-1. I'm just wondering if anybody has any experience with the DW-1 and how its been holding up so far. I know its recommended to use the Z-1 but I heard its getting discontinued anyways and wouldn't mind using the DW-1 since I found it cheaper anyway. Any thought and input? Thanks in advance.

I had mine in for like 3 month now.. did the 4qt drain and filled.. yes I was able to get 4 out with measurement. I'm not sure if its my car or the fluid but I feel the tranny shifts better with the old fluid... have 160k on the clock. it just doesn't feel the same after the fluid change.

I drained and filled (3x) my original transmission fluid with DW-1 at 85,000 miles. I now have 95,000 miles.

The shifting feels better after the refill. It definitely isn't worse. The difference may be more apparent because I'm comparing new fluid to the performance of old fluid with 85,000 miles but I like how the new fluid performs.

Shifts feel positive and a bit smoother. Sometimes shifts would feel a little harsh with the original fluid but not now.
