I bought my car recently and I have had that mystery shake from 20-25 but ive noticed its progressively getting worse. the problem i have is that I dont know if I have factory axles still (wich i highly doubt). I wanted to know a couple alternatives that were cheap and be able to fix this mystery shake. I dont think buying a 600 axle from acura is a legitimate answer to this problem. I can understand around 200-250 range. I tried doing my research on this but everyone always gives a different answer. I recently checked my drivetrain and from what I gathered the front right axle has some play to it and the midshaft has no play and the left axle has little to no play as well.

my question from people that had this shake and fixed it. what is the better alternative to fixing this instead of getting that brand new oem axle ??

I am going to replace axles soon also... I think I am going to go with new replacement axles from Autozone. I just can't justify the expense of OEM. From what i have read you should also consider replacing upper control arm / ball joints as well as lower ball joints and control arm bushings / compliance bushings. You can find new lower control arms with bushings for under $150 each, saving you time pressing bushings out.

I had this issue twice, the forage time I had it fix by simply replacing the axle with aftermarket axles which was less than 100 a piece. I just got the shaking back 2 Yrs as after the replacement and this time I replaced the axle again with aftermarket axle which didn't resolved the issue. I replaced about 3 different set of axles already and the issue still pertains. .

See i am like you I cant justify oem axles costing that much. Also My bushings on both sides are good. I used to be a mechanic for 4 years and none of those are causing the shakes. I can live without buying new upper and lower joints and not having to replace control arms. I just want the shakes to be gone! ( sounds like a crack whore on methadone)

I hear ya! The vibration / shaking in my car is ever so slight, but annoying none the less. This is what makes it so hard to diagnose and repair because something is not actually broken... its just worn out. Its easy to see a torn bushing or worn out ball joint, but this axle issues is just a pain!

very odd, ive never herd an axel cause a "shaking" issue unless it wasnt properly installed. First thing i would get checked is getting the tires balanced, rotated, check for uneven wear. It maybe a wheel bearing aswell

The problem is even if you buy OEM and the shake May still be there. The the Acura would want you to raise the car and run on all stock suspension settings before they do any further diagnosis, and ithe problem is if you do raise the car the shake will go away.

Ive done all those. theres no even wear. on any of the tires.. just was aligned like 4 weeks ago.

also the axle shake is very common for our car. ill figure it out eventually. Im a stickler for finding stuff out like this
