Hi guys, I hear a clunking noise when I go over bumps on low speeds. I looked under the car if there is anything loose. I found out that when I move the driver side axle shaft left and right there is play and made a clunking sound.

Does this mean I need a new axle assembly or is the axle nut loose?

Clicking when you turn either right or left would mean the bearings on your axles are either damaged or low on grease. Check the boots for tears or grease leaking. If you catch this soon enough sometimes you can save the axle with a new boot and grease.

If your wheels are "wobbly" it could be your tie rods or ball joint or a combination of things.

If your Axle nut is loose, hire a tow truck and ship it to a mechanic, don't drive it.
