This is a quote from acura of pleasanton for a 2005 TSX auto no navi. i checked with stevens creek acura as well and they offered 26,400. of course i would go with pleasanton, but has anyone else been able to get a cheaper quote in the bay area for this car? i've searched but didn't find anything recent. We want to buy before the year is over. Also, I know they're two completely different cars, but how does insurance for the TSX compare to the RSX?

I'm not in your area, but just to give a little preliminary indication until the people who know come on here.....

(1) I think it's probably a pretty decent price, even if it might not necessarily be the very best you can do (which I don't know).
(It's >$600 off MSRP.)
Especially if you want to get the car FAST.
If you spend more time looking around and then wind up coming back to that dealer, they might no longer have it available so soon. (By the way, do you know that they do?)

(2) I'm pretty sure that in general the insurance on the TSX is less than on the RSX, although not much. (Not necessarily true in all regions, but I think in most.)

yes both dealers i have contacted so far have the car we want. i'm trying to get email quotes from 3 other dealerships in the area, but they havent responded. i dont know what you consider fast, but i guess it does seem fast since we're trying to get it by or before the 30th.

as for the insurance, yah i figured the TSX would be less since it's a sedan and not considered as/is sporty like the RSX. i dont remember the quote exactly, but for me the RSX insurance was something around 1200 a year.

i finally recieved a quote from sunnyvale acura and they offered 1500 off MSRP for the TSX. i checked with pleasantan acura and the internet manager there offered an extra 100 off + mud guards and wheel locks for the car. i hope i can get stevens creek to beat their prices. it would be so convenient.

Who did you deal with at Pleasanton? I dealt with Greg (nice guy), the internet manager. I think I got a good deal, better than Los Gatos and Stevens Creek. Sunnyvale never even bothered to get back to me but they did put me on their mailinglist!

Anyway, I'm paying $29,990 (plus tax, lic, etc.) and that price is with body kit and wing spoiler, free trunk tray ;) Mine is NHB/Ebony with Navi.

Sill waiting for the car to be shipped up from the San Diego port.

See what happens when someone doesn't listen to me?

They save a few hundred more bucks! :D

Don't wait too late to go pick it up, they might be leaving early..... :santa2:

Larchmont, who knows that TD will probably be there at 8 in the morning. :D
Never heard of 8am! Actually, a friend is picking me up at 10:30am, the dealer is about 35 mins away. They want to go home early and I want to drive it home! Although I'm a tech guy, I will RTFM! :D

Although my family knows I bought the car, they don't know I will have it until Christmas day when I pull up in the driveway!

hey guys, newbie here. i've been recently doing some car shopping and caught my eye on the acura tsx. i've also from the bay area and had happened to check out acura dealer in serramonte. they suck, they offered way too high of price for what i wanted.. 28,200. and then a crappy deal on a trade in for my car which was worth twice as much as they offered me. i like the car, but i noticed that the torque isn't all that powerful and performance is important for me. any suggestions on getting a good deal? by the way, i noticed up in the other posts that someone said that they got the wheel locks thrown in for free? the dealer told me that there actually a gift for purchasing the car when i went to the dealer in los gatos. the offered me 27,800 for it including the mat for free. i think i can go lower. but it doesnt come with the mud guard or wing. i just want to know what i can get for my money's worth that i should be getting at that deal? im a newbie so i dont know much about buying a car. any suggestions?

For a 2005 without a Nav, you should be looking anywhere between 25,500 to about 26,500. What you should do is try having each dealer price match each other. You should also check carsdirect.com and then print out the quote you get, and bring to the dealer. They'll always try to beat it or match it. Now if you talk to the internet guys, they will alway try to beat carsdirect. My friend just bought a Silver TSX without nav, at the dealership in Concord for 26,381 before taxes.

The Nav on the TSX is great and is very well integrated. Once you have a Nav, you wont' ever want to go back. Sounds like you're getting a godd deal on the car, and see if they'll be willing to throw in any acessories because they will do that.
