Hi Blokes.
I'm new to this (but keen as). Just took delivery of an Accord Euro Luxury 05. (totally standard)

Before I even took delivery I stated looking for wheels and found a set that looked promising on ebay locally. The seller didn't know what they were, only that they came off a Honda and cost 'well over $2000 new.. I wanted 18's but these looked pretty good, and the bidding started at only $375

I researched them for a few days and found they are not your normal BBS's (I think...). The serials didn't match anything I could easily find.
So eventually I found they are BBS RG F1. A wheel produced in Japan for BBS, probably for the home market. (there are a lot of Japanese grey imports in Australia). They are a forged wheel.

From what I can gather they are 17 x 9 and I think with an offset of 42.

I thought, well if I get them at a reasonable price, even if they don't fit I could probably resell them easily enough.

Well the auction ended yesterday after a week and I won them.
... at $A375 (about $US350). I reckon I robbed him, but Ce La Guerre!
Haven't picked them up yet.

So I haven't found any reference to this exact size and offset on here.

Do the experts reckon they will fit?
Any advice would be much appreciated

If so coilovers and a drop are next.

Oh yeah, they have YOKOHAMA 255/40R17's on them.

I don't think those are genuine BBS wheels... is there any BBS stampings on them? They do not look like BBS qlty/fit/finish at all, IMO

unless they have a BBS stamp... they're knock-offs...
They have the BBS stamp Jon.
I did my research and the wheels are manufactured in Japan by Washibeam Pty Ltd.
All BBS's magnesium and aluminium forged and racing wheels (the F series) are manufactured in Japan by Washibeam.

The cast aluminium wheels are made in Germany.

The wheels I have are forged aluminium. The difference in the markings on the wheels are because of this and because the markings are stamped after the forging process hence aren't as neat as markings that are cast along with the wheel.

The wheels came off a Japanese market Integra imported to this country by its Japanese owner.

The finish on the wheels are perhaps a bit 'rougher' than the cast wheels because of the forging process and that they are a racing wheel with the emphasis on lightness and strength rather than appearance.

The wheel weighs just under 15lbs (17x9) compared to the cast wheel of the same size and style @ around 22lbs, a sizeable unsprung weight saving for suspension response.

I've test fitted them and the centre has to be bored a few mm. and I'm thinking of perhaps stripping the colour to better suit the car, although that would lose the uniqueness of the wheel to an extent.

And of course I want to get rid of a bit of that wheel gap, but for a $3000 wheel set for under $400 I'm well pleased.

you can get them for 200.00 usd lol.
$200 each or a set!?!? I wuz ripped off
Well you can't get them here for that. Not that I've seen anyway.
Are you talking about these same wheels? Most people on forums I've looked at have never even heard of the Jap spec, F1 forged ones.

The Subaru blokes (forged BBS were an option) seem to exchange them for around $1500 a set.

they look really good, I think that the colouring is quite unique and picks up on the colours of the tail lights.

Are they the AVS 255's on the rims still. if they are they are a perfect fit.

if you lower your car to close the gap between tyre and the arches it will look great.

Thanks Mate. The back tyres are 17x255 45 and the fronts 17x235 45. Shagged out Yokahamas but good for the test fit.

The 42 offset means they hang out a bit (see pic) and I've been advised to run 225s all round so I don't have to roll the guards.

About a 1.5 drop is next up. More when I can afford Konis.

I was all ready to get the wheels stripped and the faces polished, but I may run them for a while to see how the colour grows on me. I haven't even cleaned them yet!
