I have E-Z Pass and so my speed between the any two toll plazas is easy enough to calculate, just from my toll statements!

They don't, of course.

Even if the kind of sheeple who live in Europe would be willing to tolerate it, I think most politicians in the US are astute enough to realize exactly how the villagers would respond to them if they brought that monster to life over here...

I have E-Z Pass and so my speed between the any two toll plazas is easy enough to calculate, just from my toll statements!

They don't, of course.

Here in IL, we've got I-Pass. Sounds like if you go over 20 between two tolls, you get a ticket.. Someone said they got one for that, but I still have yet to see solid proof...though I'm not willing to be a test subject either..

I have an I-Pass and I haven't had a problem with speeding through tolls, but most of the time I am stuck in traffic on I-88 to really see a difference.

This is ridiculous. Just another way to jack up car prices....all because a commission couldn't tell this 86 year old man that he was too old to drive! It must be unintentional acceleration.

When you get your I-Pass...I think you have to put down the plates of the car that the I-Pass is for...and you can enter multiple cars...I think only one other car. Plus they've got cameras at the I-Pass lanes..

I have ipass seeing as how I go to IL all the time - and in the "legal" notices that they sent with the IPASS it says that you cant go over 20.. but i do all the time, no tickets here.

I hate the idea of a black box, i mean I cant be going 110 in any cars then

I mean right now im being extra cautious I got a nice old 22 over the limit ticket coming back from chicago on thursday. I tried to beg the cop to be nice afterall it was my birthday..but NOOOOOO she hated me... lol Guess I cant really blame her, its not like I was going 5 over the limit... grrr

DOH!! Notice those new speed limit signs going into the toll booths? I just noticed them yesterday on my way home from the airport. I guess it's an easy 1k fine if you break the 45 limit heading into the tolls... Sheesh...if it's that much of a problem, just take those damn things out!! :rotz:

Actually, they do have certain instruments like that in most GM cars, It help in accident reconstuctions, they are turned on by gravitational changes that are significant enough to make the computer think there was an accident (like OnStar knows when you have a rapid decrease in speed). Its all in milliseconds and it records engine speed, actual mph, change in velocity, and most importantly if you were belted in. Its called CDR (crash data retrieval system) I am pretty sure it is made by Vetronix. I have used it in a few cases.... pretty sick
