Brake lights don't turn on......

1751 Views 6 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Jottle
When driving was told that my brake lights are not coming on when pressing the brake... confirmed and they don’t come on neither is the third brake light. Checked fuse under the hood #13/20amp mini. Fuse is ok. Horn is working.
Has anyone had this problem??

Check your brake switch. It's located on the brake pedal. Most likely went bad.

I've replaced the switch .. still no brake lights.
Did you test the switch to be sure it's okay? Find a lonely road, set the cruise, and press the brakes. If the car keeps going at cruise speed then the switch is likely faulty.

Did your VSA and ! lights come on too?

Did you ever figure out why it didn’t work I’m having the same issue on my 06

Could also be that all three of the light sockets went bad. There are pins in each socket that can fail after time, you’ll find cheap replacements at autozone or adv auto.
Might be worth getting an OBD-II reader to figure out if you have a code that might point to the culprit.
