I am interested in replacing my front and rear rotors on my 2006 TSX. Can anyone recommend an alternative to OEM factory parts? I have looked around online and have found that, to no surprise, the OEM parts from Acura are just as expensive as high performance slotten/cross-drilled alternatives.

I will also replace the pads (all four wheels), of which I have experience, however, not the rotors. It seems simple enough, though, but can anyone offer any insight to any unforeseen issues that may arrise, or tips to make the job easier?

Thank you,

Rob

Extremely nice guy, with great experience in brakes/suspension. I just got a set of front Centrix rotors for an '03 TL-S and it ran me around $80, which was a steal. He can get you Powerslot stuff if you're looking to upgrade from OEM.

If you've done pads before, replacing rotors is just one more step. One thing to watch out for are the rotor set screws (the two small screws holding the rotor in place). They are oftentimes stuck on, and would need an impact driver to get them out. I bought one from Autozone for $10, and it worked like a charm. If you use a regular phillips, even with a wrench, chances are you'll end up stripping them, and will have to drill them out. I replaced them with new rotor screws from the dealer (60 cents each) just for good measure.

Replacing pads and rotors

I have 109K on my 2005 TSX 6spd and just replaced pads and rotors for 2nd time. I used EBC rotors and Hawk HPS pads. Unless you are going to the track and doing some serious driving, slotted rotors are a waste of money. They look cool but are really overhyped.
