Whats up everyone? I am in need of a brake job and a few people were telling me not to do aftermarket brakes and that i should go to the dealership and have it done. has anyone had issues with doing it outside of the dealership with aftermarket parts?

Those people have no idea what they are talking about.

OEM rotors are garbage.
Go with some brembo or ebc blanks and hawk or ebc pads for a simple/OEM like set up.

Also, stealership will overcharge you.

Never go to dealership to buy brakes, they were trying to charge me 300+ just to replace the rear brakes. I decided to just buy aftermarket and I ended up replacing both front and rear pads/rotors for $400+. You're much better off asking friends to see if they know a place that could do it for a fair price (installation). Not to mention the car brakes much better than OEM.

If you're looking for good brakes, I suggest check out EBC Brakes, I have them and will definitely buy them again. I did some research on them to see what others have to say and everyone gave it positive reviews.

yeah what they said ^, ive used brembo blanks and akebono pads on my 2000 civic, it was a best set up ever. I have yet to experiment with getting a setup for the TSX but i can definitely vouch for brembo blanks. as far as pads go Ive also been hearing good stuff about hawk and ecb, those are pretty much the top 2 company names that i hear everytime a break discussion comes up.

If i were at your stage i would never go to store to buy braking system, they were trying to cost me 300+ just to substitute the back braking. I made a decision to just buy upgraded and I finished up changing both back and front pads/rotors for 382$ .
