Last night when I came back from the car wash, I noticed both of my fog lamp lenses were broken. I don't tailgate and only had this car for ~6 months! Anyways...if this happened to you, how much did it cost you to fix it? I hope I can just buy the housing and not the entire kit!

Thanks

Did you have them on in the car wash? If so, possibly the cold water on the lens of the hot lamps caused the lenses to crack...thermal shock.

It's not likely that in one trip you catch 2 rocks big enough and placed correctly to crack 2 separate fog lights. If so...you should have bought a lottery ticket, cause the stars were aligned.

Welcome TSX7 :wavey:

Some have had issues of broken fog lights... I think you might be able to get a new lens for your foglights. I'm not sure how much they cost. Maybe call up your dealership parts department and ask them if they have any OEM fog light lenses. Otherwise you might have to check for aftermarket lenses.

When I first heard that people's fog lights on their TSX has been breaking, I went ahead and put on some clear bra material on mine. I got some 40mil material, but you'd have to not be at a complete stop for more than like 15 minutes otherwise the heat from the fog lights will brown up the material. You basically have to keep moving to allow air the cool down the material. I've got a thread in here somewhere about that.

Thread about the material browning (with pics)

You can get some from our site vendor as well: Auto Clear Guard: this thread

Hope that helps.

I don't think they're designed to be left on all the time.

I'm concerned enough with the thermal dissipation issue that I don't even use them except in dense fog.

I'll take a guess that the kit is cheaper than the 2 individual lamps. There is a complete TSX kit for sale on e-bay at the moment. The Acura parts discounters sell the kits for $279.50 or less, shipping included. You could then sell the extra components, the harness, switch and circuit breaker. (Some might prefer other brand fog lamps and the other Acura components would simplify their installation.)

Thanks for the replies guys. My salesman told me I can leave my fog on whenever my HIDs come on so it's been that way since I bought the car. The lens on the passenger side looks like it was hit by a stone but on the drivers side, it looks like it just cracked on its own. I searched the net and I found this:

http://www.boomplustoys.net/jdm_accord.shtml

JDM Honda Euro-R Fog Lamp Assembly
$125USD/$175CDN each

Are these Honda Euro-R fogs same as Acura TSX fogs?

Do you know any other fogs that'll fit the TSX?

Also, how hard is it to replace the lamp assembly? If it's something easy, I'm going to put it in myself.

Thanks

Yes, those driving lights are the same. CL7 and CL9 uses the same driving lights, just different housing to finish off the looks. From my impression, the OEM driving lights don't have very strong lenses, it can be easily cracked when driven around daily from rocks and pebbles.

TSX7 .... I have had to replace the housings 3 different times. You cannot buy just the glass you have to buy the whole housing. They are $95.00 each, I think. I have tried to replace the glass myself with polycarbonate but the heat just melts the plastic.

here is the link for ordering the replacement housings.

http://www.handa-accessories.com/accext03.html

the housings are the same for accord and tsx.

Thanks coujac for the link. Unfortunately, I live in Canada and they don't ship outside the US. However, now that I know TSX fogs are the same as Accord Fogs, I'll go and get them from my honda dealer. How hard is it to replace them?

Thanks.

Try wedge some Lexan between the fog and inner front bumper. It's like plexiglass but thin and strong. Or some type of mesh. I have yellow Rockblocker 14mil plastic tint on mine. So far no issues.
