Who all own firearms in SoCal and how anal are they? I own 2 shotguns, 2 rifles "ar15 and 22lr", and 3 pistols. I'm sure there's a magazine rd limit also, like 10rds?

10 round capacity is correct. AR must be CA compliant.

I own a variety of guns & rifles. No assault style rifles though, not yet anyway

dont get me started about 10 rounds. I don't approve on them telling me how or when I can defend my family. There are more on the way.. they are planning to ban bullet buttons.

You can always buy 30 round rebuild kits. By that, they disassemble the magazine and ship it to you.

You're not allowed to put it together unless you're outside of California. I'm sure people follow this law... lol..

Make sure you buy all long arms before 2014. Past that date then you are required to register it.

I got a ar-15 and a few backups. One ar-15 is not enough of me.

home defense: XD9 or XD45 (.45 if you're too lazy to shoot twice ) My first choice for a first time handgun. Cheap too.
i want something easy to maintain and reliable, hence the revolver. I was thinking a 357 s&w or something. Been wanting to go shoot one but haven't had the motivation.

for some reason I feel like getting a glock and saving up for a deagle ($650) and 2 clips of ammo :dunno:

considering just getting a shotty too since it'll be for home defense. no need to aim.

hm, i've shot a 357 before. Its fun. Glocks are known to be really reliable.

tekneek: hit up a range and handle all the pistols youre interested in. I like my XDs over Glock, feels better in my hand ergonomically.

Also revolver vs semi-auto. Semi has ability to hold more rounds. hahaha

Indeed a shotty is an excellent for home defense

I've own my Glock 21sf for 3 years now and shot well over 500+rds. Hasn't jammed on me yet, and I rarely clean it. I'd get a shotgun for home defense with buck shot. Due to area the balls fly at. Unless you have an extended mag for your pistol. Please don't get a Desert Eagle, it's a waste of money honestly. Yeah it's cool but not particle.

But what do you mean by AR must be CA compliant? I own lots of 30rd mags, but they wont take it cause i use it for military use.:jester: And I'm planning on building my second AR soon.

Opps I accidentally edited your post. My apologizes.

If you have a preban magazine (1993 i think, correct me if im wrong) then you can have it here.

If you AR-15 has at least 2 of the following "evil" features:
Pistol Grip
Flash Hider
Removable Mag
Bayonet Mount
Adjustable Stock

then you are NOT allowed to have a detachable magazine. You must have a bullet button which requires a effing tool to remove your magazine. If you bring 30 rounders here then you MUST disassemble it as soon you step foot in Kalifornia.

if you are using a 30 round magazine to defend your home and you get caught with it then you will get in trouble.

For Example, hypothetically speaking, if Joe used a ar-15 SEMI-AUTO /w a 30 round magazine to defend his home from MULTIPLE intruders (because according to Joe 10 rounds isn't enough to protect his family) and he disassemble his magazine before the police arrives then this will be UNLAWFUL.

BTW www.nevadashooters.com is selling pmags 30 rounds for 12 bucks each and they'll disassemble it and ship to california for free.

So I was able to find a loop hole in the system. I can transport my AR cross country, but as soon as get in I need to get a bullet button. As like you guys stated before I have to disassemble all my mags. and field strip my ar so its not technically an assault rifle.

make sure your lower receiver isn't on the ban list.. i believe most bushmasters are banned and some CMMG.
