Canada's game against Sweden at the World Hockey Championship Saturday could have ended in controversy had the Canadians won or tied, as Canada submitted an incorrect lineup before the game.

Canada submitted a full lineup sheet to the IIHf before the game, but when it was entered in the computer and returned to them to be signed, Scott Walker's name had not been added. The error went unnoticed, and the sheet was signed and returned.

In the first period, Walker was on the ice for a goal against, but the tournament's computer system could not register the minus, which is when the mistake was discovered.

Swedish officials were informed of the error, but said they would not file a protest, but Walker did not play in the third period as a precaution. Had he scored a goal or even been on the ice when one was scored for Canada, the Swedes could have protested the result.

geez.. even if he scored the goal, It should still count reguardles of the computer/human error in the paper work.

I remember late nite shinnies, there was no paper work back then, most paper work was the only girl that could come out that early/late to hold the score cards, but most time we could care less about the score
