Cheap Speakers - Need Change

Well i can unfortunetly say that my driver side front speaker is already messed up. It distorts everytime i turn the volume up. At first, i loved the bass and the somewhat clear sound system, however, i am in shock to find that this happened. Now i know that some of you are probably saying "He probably has his bass or the volume turned up too high" but that wasn't the case. I have never let the bass level go beyond center, and i have never turned up the volume passed 35. Anywayz i was looking for speakers, on crutchfield, and i was wondering which ones to get for this car. They usually tell you but they don't have the tsx size in stock, at least for the 2005 model. well please feel free to give any suggestions or comments. And yes tsx's are still great yet i believe that if you pay $29,560 out the door, you should deserve good quality speakers.

6.5" Speakers on the Door...Rear ones are 6x9's.... You could get them at Best Buy even, shouldnt be hard, and if u dont mind a little drilling, you can put them in youself...

that was a mistype, i meant to type 30. I was actually thinking about it this afternoon while driving.
My passenger front speaker does that too. Sounds like the voice coil is scratching. Only happens when it's really cold out though.
yeah my speakers did that, went to acura about it, they tried to accuse me of blowing the speakers, then said they couldnt find anything wrong w/ it... Very Same Day brought my new speakers
At first, I thought they sucked too.....becasue it sounded cheap. But after a while, it's pretty damn good, I don't know why. The most I gone when driving was like volume 21 and Basss 6....... THAT'S SO DAMN LOUD> ...... I usually just go 15, and it's loud, outside people look at me!!.....hahaha

I tried 40 before, when i am OUT OF DA CAR.... its so damn clear from the outside..... you should try it. After I did that, I appreciate my speakers!
if one of my rear spearkers farts at high volume, when i play a hip hop song with bass, is it covered under warranty?

I dont think I blew it out.

Ummm....I think 30 is still ridiculous, but I guess your reasoning could be that you're able to go all the way up to 40, so how can 30 destroy the speakers.

For me, it seems like 25 would be way loud enough.
Just being a pain here but that's a horrible arguement! Just because the max is 40, doesn't mean it's ok to hit 30 on the level. That's like saying: "well the speedometer max's out at 160 so why would going 140 blow the engine?" At some point, common sense needs to factor into the equation. Factory speakers aren't designed to be blasted so that other people can think you're cool. For that, you upgrade them. ;)
Regardless of how ridiculous it seems to blast the stereo at 30 (I have only ever gone up to 15) it should still be able to take 75% of the level.
I think that is a warrantly issue.

Having said that - there are certain known - un-clean - sounds that can damage any type of speaker at high levels. If you were playing a clean CD you should definitely take it back to the dealer and have them fix it. However if you burnt the CD yourself - especially from a downloaded file not from one that you ripped, then there is a chance that you killed your speakers.

There is no reason that the engine should blow going 140 - or even 160 for that matter - if you maintain it properly. So Yes, I think the speakers should sound like Sh*t at 40 but that does not mean they should crumble.
