There are popular drag racing places all over the place... unless you're into that scene, you probably won't know about it.

I think it was funny that the reporter in that story said something along the lines that the cars were capable of doing 0-60mph in a few seconds... obviously a bit of an exaggeration.

It was funny when they showed the tow truck rip the front fender off of that silver Honda as it being dropped off

do they sell these cars off?
I believe they'll hold them for a period of time, then if no one claims them they'll auction them off.

If you saw any of the TV reports, you might have noticed that the "undercover" people seemed to have special glee about getting down and being one of the racers in order to catch the guys. Methinks they enjoyed it quite a bit too much.

Lock them up too. :D

Yeah, they're just impounding them. The owners can go to the impound yard and pick them up if they want... they have to pay the fine, which will include any towing costs. If they don't come to pick them up, the police end up auctioning them off. Don't know how long they have to pick it up before they auction it.

BTW... it was definitely funny when they ripped the bumper off that silver Civic. Although I'm sure the owner of that car isn't laughing very much. :)

so those people are getting their cars back?
I would think so. Like I said, they have to cough up the money for the fines.

I don't think they seize their cars unless they commit a felony.

I'm guessing the same thing happened to the S2000 also...the pass front was torn up. Ouch!

So does insurance cover the damage caused by the tow truck?
Somehow, I have a feeling their insurance companies don't know what they did with their cars... :D

EDIT: I meant with engine mods. If that's the case, they really don't want to bring in their cars for an estimate because they'll more than likely yank their policy.

I am out of the engine mod trend....I did it to my '93 Nissan 240SX years ago, but now I am not interested in modifying my cars engines.
