^ When I did mine, I just took each pieces apart (unscrew the chrome pieces) and cleaned it, then I did two layers.

I wiped it down clean and applied a tack coat followed by 6 coats. The extra coats makes it very easy to peel off if you ever need to and I just removed the emblem. That's it.

The extra coats does make it easier to peel off, last time i did mine i had 3 coats, and i wish i had maybe one more coat because the edges ran thin
