Finally got around to cleaning my exhaust tips. Before i just polished the outside. I couldn't stand all the carbon gunk on the insides so he went to work on them. I grabbed a very light sandpaper block and scrubbed them. Took a while, but they look a lot better now.

yes you can but its going to take lots of time lol, i used some 3m stainless steel polisher and that wool that you wash pots and pans with it came out almost like that, if i did it longer it wouldve come one exactly like pic 2

The inside of your exhaust tips looked really clean to begin with...wth lol. Mine get way dirtier but I clean it up with a cotton cloth or old sock with BRASSO to get it all clean. Interesting approach with the sandpaper, guessing like 1000-2000 grit? Need to give my car a good detail Saturday for this upcoming meet :)

some ppl use steel wool. doubt it'll come off any easier, but it's another option if you don't have any fine-grit sandpaper lying around.

I do this 2-3 times a year since I bought the car w/ 23k miles. 1500 grit wet sand paper and Mothers polish after keeps them looking nice. Plus every wash I clean them out with my rim wash mit. I like the stock tips so much I think I'm going to keep one for the custom 3" single outlet I waiting to go on.
