hee... if I have the money, I won't consider MB Porsche or Ferrari... I think I will go for NSX.

although the class is so different... but I think I will buy sth that fit my taste.

The NSX is sadly outdated at this point in time. The car needs a redesign from the bottom up. Still looks cool though, but the performance standards have changed drastically since the NSX came out.....in 1991.

Is there any particular reason they made these two cars in auto only? I thought it'd be more of a fun car with MT and alot of luxuries... :donno:

Is it because it's strictly a luxo car?

yes... agree... but it is still a very fast car on track. A car that was designed more than 10 years ago, and still can compete with cars nowadays. I think it should be a good one when Honda get a new NSX out.

I would love some more input.

Maybe a Mercedes-Benz or Lexus forum would be a good place to go? My guess is, like me, most people here have not driven either one. So their opinions are based mostly on looks.

If you were to ask my opinion, I'd say for that kind of money a Porsche Boxter looks real nice. Or, you could buy an S2000 and another TSX for your daily commute, and still have some cash to bank.

I would buy neither. I will take a Porsche or the M3 or M5 instead.

i personally like the look of the new slk 350 (a mini sl)

I see you can have one of these for only about 90K.
But I'm sure that's stripped. :D

And the 997 would be a bargain -- only like 70?
(Stripped.) :D
I think about 82 for the 3.8L, 350hp 997 "Carrera S" but that would also include the (optional) floor mats, the (optional) rear wiper and the (optional) silver paint.

I'm trying to talk my wife into a factory delivery tour in Stuttgart.

To celebrate my kid's forthcoming college graduation.

(Nooooooo OF COURSE IT'S NOT for my kid! She's getting 4 years of college and 4 years of grad school paid for!)

:jump:
yeah im looking around a little over 110 000$ CAN as a price range, and luxury is a key as someone pointed out Lexus is really luxury, even the back seats that have no way of fitting a kid, let alone an adult is really well made and bolstered. What other cars around the price range are availble. Is the Porsche still in the question?

Yeah, that sounds generous enough. :D

Possible poll question: Who would trade 4 years of college and 4 years of grad school for a Porsche/Lamborghini/SC430?

I think we'd be horrified at the results. :D

depending on what the majors are and which college(s), you won't get a fair trade... :D

Doh..I didn't realize you are in Canada... Lexus is defiantely your choice if you're looking for luxo. How about an Audi S4 Cabriolet?
I'd definitely broaden my range to include some Bimmers. Hell an Aston Martin or something.

And, I'd rethink the whole thing. It's a friggin car for cryin out loud. Get something reasonable and nice, keep the rest.

Which brings us right back to...... :D
Not to be an ass ... But what matters on what the public thinks about what car you're interested in buying? Seriously if you've made up your mind on whatever make/model or in fact anything in life, no one can change your decision. Threads like that pop up on just about every forum and there will never be an agreeing consensus on what is a good choice of the selected field.

I'd say go out and spend some time in whatever dealership on the makes/models you're interested in buying. Test drive, make tangible comparisons, pricing and budget negotiations. Just about some of the simple basic objectives of every consumer regardless of whatever the purchase is. After all it's your purchase ... Not anyone else, who cares what others have to think or say as long as you're satisfied and contented with your purchase?

Gotta disagree a little with CL9 on this.

Yes, what you're saying is true. But, asking the question can be a good way to get some extra perspectives, to find out how you feel and what you want. Really, it's no different than getting a consultant for something.

Plus, these things can be fun.
