Hello TSX members,
I'm currently hunting for a reliable Daily driver at decent price that is reliable and fun to drive.
I found a 04' TSX with 6spd MT w/navigation with 62K miles.
They are asking for $12K and this price sounds good to me.
Now, I'm worried that there may be some major maintenance/tune ups that need to be done at around this mileage. After doing some search, it seems like TSX's engine has timing chain that does not need to be replaced.
Questions.

1. Timing chain does not need to be replaced but is there any other thing that will need to be replaced, which may cost much?

2. Is this price on-going price or good price?

3. Anything I should pay close attention to when checking/inspecting this car before I take this car?

Any comment/info would be helpful.

there are lots of threads on this, especially for issues on the 04, have a quick search.
i wouldn't pay more than 10500-11 for that.
04 has issues with oil burning, ac failure, low beam bulbs are 8-9 yrs old now and could probably be dimming and may need replacing soon (oem bulbs are ~$300)... leather condition... just to name a couple of things

I'm new to the forum. I just tried to search for common issues on 04' TSX but it didn't actually bring up the results I was looking for but just bunch of threads.
Could anyone be kind enough to post links to common issues on 04' TSX for me?
I feel dumb now. haha

You should be able to find an 06+ for that price.

thats a bit of what i got. In the end found a good deal on a 08 nav and took it. The more i've read seems like the 04s had quite a few issues. Especially in the ac depertment.

i'd get an 07-08, if only for the flashpro option. but i'm very happy on my decision to pass up an 04-05 and get an 06

06-08 are the years you really want, 05 is safe as well, but you really want to avoid 04 as it has all the common issues of a 1st year model

I recently picked up a 2005 with 103K for 7600. Needs a new bulb or ballast, will need 2 new tires in before winter hits, and is missing the fende liners for a previous accident. Its not perfect but the interior is extremely nice. I drove it 300miles and the powersteering house blew but Acura fixed for free. I would avoid the 2004 if possible. If you get on KBB you will see a drastic price difference between 2004, 2005 and 2006. I'm looking for a 2006 for my wife but wont pass on a 2005. I dont consider 2004's though.

I would stick to the 06-08's There are little differences between the 05 to 06's that make it worth the price difference I think. And 04's are just a headache waiting to happen

I find my 2004 to be holding up really well, no issues whatsoever at the 90,000 mile mark. However I recommend the 2006+ just because of additional piece of mind and the mid cycle refresh which added some nice features.

I bought a 06' with 99k miles for $12,000. They don't go any cheaper here in MN lol...I did happen to find at least 4 Salvaged titled TSX's for cheap and very tempting prices though...
