Hey all, was driving home today and the D light started flashing. '04 AT with 112,6xx miles. I know this means a transmission code, but the car isn't showing any symptoms of an ailing transmission? I'm a part time mechanic for the Air National Guard. There's no slipping, no hard shifting, no strange noises or clunks except the initial noise of going into gear from park. I had the light blink about 6k miles ago, and changed the trans fluid and filter. (I think that was the first time the fluid had ever been changed) and that fixed the problem then. The fluid still looks good, and does not smell burnt at all. Could it just be a malfunctioning sensor?

Thank you for your input!

You should stop by an auto parts store to get codes read, but I would guess that one of your gear pressure switches is faulty.

Turned out to be the 3rd gear pressure switch. Apparently it's really common. Had to go all around town to find a shop that would read the code. Parts stores can't do it.
