So I have a small 2 inch dent on the passenger side fender.. if I were to trade in the car, would it be better to fix it cheap and trade it in or not bother ?

yeah, I wouldn't worry about it... I traded a car that had a tear in the leather seat and I don't even think they noticed it. Usually dealers get rid of the cars (at auctions) that they take from trade ins.. at least that's what I've been told.

heat gun a hammer and try and tap it out a little, than a little bit of sand paper on the rust, than use primer and than touch up paint. thats the least you should do and its not hard to do:) good luck
