Hello everyone, I just recently bought a black 07 TSX (stoked) and first thing I want to do is buy some wheels for it. Only thing is, I am really new to all of this, so I was just wondering if throwing on 18's will make that much of a difference in the smoothness of the driving? Or if it makes a difference at all... I know it makes a difference in appearance, since I feel like 17's might be a little too small... Anyways, any opinions from your experience will help, thanks!

I agree with tekneek

Winter tires are my 17 inch and their much softer but one thing I notice when I swap to 18 summer rims, the ride is like really hard every pot hole hurts =\

tein basics is my suspension so its already pretty harsh but its a preference.
I did sit in my friends tsx and envy stock suspension haha but it doesnt handle as well.

That's a loaded question. The short answer is yes it will ride rougher. The ride quality has so many variables when it comes to wheels/tires like tire pressure, tire size, tire brand/model, sidewall stiffness and so on.

Thanks for the advice man, I want to get my car looking nicer with a set of wheels, but one thing I didn't wanna do was diminish the smoothness of the ride so much, since I'm just keeping the stock suspension, for now at least, while I learn more about car mods and all

So if I were to get 18" wheels, and I were to do some research on good quality tires, what size would you recommend to fit the best for the tire? Would I have to do anything to the car itself in order to have them fit properly? I want to do as little as possible right now to the car itself, hence why I was looking at getting 17" wheels. Thanks again bro

I know there are many different wheel sizes as well, but for example, one of my friends recommended I get "work vs-xx in 18x9 et24" so for a wheel like that, what would be the best size tires? I know tire sizes are for example 225/45/18, so I guess my question is what are the first two numbers and how do they change the tire itself? and what does it mean when a tire has a ex. "+20 offset"?

yeah you're going to NEED to lower it otherwise you're going to look like an SUV. Work wheels are not cheap..maybe buy something cheaper and save some cash for suspension? Nearly anyone who upgrades from 17 to 18 recognizes the need to be lowered..otherwise it looks incomplete and in many cases, worst than stock.

My advice: get on the suspension before the wheels..lowered on OEM wheels is better than stock height with aftermarket wheels

Lol I'd buy suspension first as well. I bought my rims first(18x10 +25) sitting at stock height and it looked horrible. It looked like a Mexican low rider how the wheels poked out and like an SUV because it looked way higher. I'd also wait and do research on what your looking for in width in your rim as well. I made the mistake of adjusting my fenders to make 18x10 rim fit when I lowered the car so now my fenders are pulled and unless it's x9.5 or higher it looks so weird and ugly:(
