Hi,
I am reviewing whats need to be done to replace the expansion valve and have read in the service manual to get at it I need to remove the blower unit.
Part of this procedure on page 21-69 says to 'cut the plastic cross brace'. Do I need a new one later to put it all back together or what? On various forums I've never seen anybody talk about cuting anything. I've only seen it in the manual. Any body replaced an expansion valve and cut the cross brace?

It doesnt say anything about replacing that area. I believe as long as you seal it back properly there shouldnt be anything that needs to be replaced. I would ask a tech at the dealership when you go get the part and depending on what he says I would use a duct tape or an AC service type tape to seal up where you cut and it should be fine.
