The HID ballast needs time to power up the HIDs to the correct lighting output and also need time to shut off, it is a cause of overload and can cause the ballast to prematurely blow out or fuse the HID bulbs because of the high wattage output on load.
The dual HIDs with the high/low beams use a reflective cover, using a up down switch activated moving mechanism. When the high beam is activated, it simply moves over and shines the beam upwards.johnej said:then how do bixenons work??
Good question, I have yet to find a feasible reason behind this. Indeed, factory warranty coverage only extends to the ballast.kwalnut said:if thats the case then why did acura hook up our lights to flash when we lock or unlock the car, when we dont shut them off? isnt it just gonna casue more problems for us? and im sure they dont cover blown bulbs
