*Noobie warning!*
:eek:hsnap:

I just got my 2009 Acura TSX (tech) and I love it except for when I cold start in in the morning. It goes "tick, tick, tick, start, and then SCREECH!" I've taken over to the Acura dealer twice now but it never recreates the noise. It's under warranty for a while longer and I want to know if you guys have any clue or have had this problem before that was fixed. Please let me know
BTW: the oil is brand new and I put premium in the car religiously.

Thanks!

I checked the belt and everything looks okay to me

Take a look!
Just a FYI it a serpentine belt not a timing belt. I have a slit grind right after I start my 2010 TSX and I sounds like the start might be going out but I am not 100% sure.

The belt does not look cracked but belts are cheap and I am getting ready to replace mine just because of maintains stuff I want to do on the car since I bought it used.

It's the belt. Change it and clean your pulleys as best you can w a degreaser and you should be good. I always use autozone for parts because they can supply the serpentine belt puller at the same time :)

If it only screeches in the morning after engine startup and stops screeching after it's warmed up then it's the belt. The reason why the dealership can't replicate the noise is because the belt as already warmed up when you got there. When rubber warms up it has more grip.

Just get it replaced, it's relatively cheap.

No belts should not need to be broke in and from your pic is been on for awhile.

Have them check the auto tensioner, the spring could be getting weak. But I would start with a new belt.
