Hi guys! I'm new to the forums, and joined especially to ask this question.

I was at FutureShop (BestBuy) today to see how I can best integrade my iPod to the factory installed stereo in my car.

Came across this iSimple and on the inside panel it says that it is not useable for a 2004 TSX. I have a Canadian vehicle. I was suprised, it had 2005-2008 TSX on there and 2004-2008 TL on there, but *not* the 2004 TSX.

Are they bluffing? Is there some little modification that can be done that can make this compatible?

Or, do you guys just suggest getting another portability module? I'm getting a nice deal on this iSimple module with installation included so would really like to figure out a way for this to work.

*ANY* advice would be really appreciated - I really want to get this working soon.

Thanks a lot everyone!

Geebra - thanks for your reply. Can you explain to me the difference?

I'm getting the FS one for $100 installed vs. ordering this one from ebay for $129 USD + $23.75 USD shipping + installation ?

Thanks.

Oh thanks! I didn't even realize that thing was an FM transmitter... geez, I already have one of those, and it sucks. I thought it was a direct connector.

Having said that, I don't think this is the one. The one I saw in store was a direct connection 'cos it allowed you to charge your iPod and also control the iPod through your steering wheel.

So, I'm still hoping that someone has used that and made it work for an 04 TSX!

Bought this a year ago, and finally just got to installing it now. The problem seems to be in the adapter harness: PGHHD1 - It does not fit. Even though the instructions mention a 14 pin connector, this one only has 13 and the male connector is a little wider than the TSX's 14 pin connector. Trying to install this on a Canadian 05 non-navi TSX. This is a bummer as the packaging says it will fit the TSX 2005-2008. I guess the cue should be taken from the fact it won't fit 04 and needs an XM button and in Canada there is no difference between 04 and 05 and I don't have an XM button - only AUX.

If you guys are looking for one that WILL work with the Canadian TSXs, buy the GTA Car Kit, pretty much the same thing as the iSimple but is made from a group of people from the Greater Toronto Area aka GTA. I have it on my TSX and it works amazing. Installation is basically the same as the iSimple.

Awesome, thanks for the pointer. Will check it out as they have a video of it working on a Canadian TSX with the AUX function (without the XM)

As for my above post - I was a bit of a dummy thinking the white connector needs to go to the back of the amp. Once I found the correct empty plug at the bottom of the stereo - everything fit physically, but once I turned it on (waiting 3 minutes to initialize as instructed) I got into the same boat as the folks above. Pressing the AUX button (turning the tune, etc.) would not switch from the CD player to the iSimple player. :squint:

Oh well, anyone (Toronto area) who has the XM button wants to buy this 'unused' kit? :hmmph:
I guess I have to take the hit and buy either the GTA or USA-SPEC kit for 04 TSX.
