hmmmm.... possible "misfiring"?

Check your spark plugs, check the tips of the plugs when they are out. If one has some white deposits on it, then you know that cylinder is running lean. If one is covered in oil or gasoline, then that plug is fouled and needs cleaned/replaced.

Check your throttle body to see if it is clogged with carbon, if it is you may need to clean it out.

Hey all,

Have a hesitation, replaced MAP sensor, no change. Any suggestions?
Well is your motor plugged in?...

...Alright just kidding lol, seriously though alot more info is needed, as much as possible actually. Many things can cause hesitation though. A huge one is a bad IAT sensor and/or a bad Primary o2 sensor. Both *should* throw codes when bad, but if intermittent they may not.

EDIT: Why did you replace the map?

I got hesitation going on as well. Anything over 40mph it is kind of a lag and I feel that something is pulling a car back. With a higher speed the grater the lag. The crazy thing is that, when I drive with cruise control it's gone. Any suggestions? Car is '04 tsx with 167K miles. I have replaced o2 sensor about 2 years ago. Since then on other sensors been touched. Any help is appreciated.

Could be your throttle, if you slam the pedal to the flow does it take off normally?

I believe the throttle is fine. When I step on it in neutral it is actually very sharp and revs up fast. I forgot to mention that the car has still a lot of power left and is very quick. The lag what i have going on, has been there for about 2 years. It is especially annoying on highways where speed stays same for most time. Another thing what i can think of is that, sometimes in colder weather there is no lag and car drives fine. My guess would be mas air flow sensor. Maybe cleaning it?

As stated above you have a map, which reads pressure, along with your IAT sensor they are used to calculate the correct amount of fuel based on air density and temp. Are you throwing any codes? Its most likely that your feeling the typical DBW lag that the TSX has.

Thanks guys. Do you think I should replace the MAP sensor? Or there is a way to check it out first?

Just a quick question. What is a IAT sensor? And is it by the MAP sensor?

The car is not throwing any codes. At least the check engine light isn't on. I haven't had it check out either, so not really sure there might be something hiding.

I'll have the MAP and IAT sensor checked out.

You would have a CEL for one of those. I am betting you are battling the DBW. this is not a super smooth car to drive at first.
