How can I clean the exterior chrome trim?

I noticed there the chrome trim around the door has some sort of waxy, sticky spots that I couldn't get rid of with car wash and water. Can someone recommend something to clean it with that won't harm the chrome finish? Any help is greatly appreciated.

You might also try cleaner wax
