How to get your radio serial number if you have navi.

So everyone knows about the 1-6-ON trick already to get the serial number from non-navi tsx's, but after a TON of searching I found how to get it for navi tsx's as well without removing the radio.

It's actually just as simple as the other method, only you hold Seek>> and CD^ and press the power button. You'll get U---- the L---- which designates the first and second four digits of your serial number.

Don't believe me? Check out Service Bulletin B03-011.

Anyways, I just thought I'd post it here in case anyone was in the same boat as me.

Good info! Most Acura's will help out customers that need their Security Code...

Unfortunately my dealer wanted to charge me $100 to pull the radio out to get at the serial number on the sticker behind it... This is definitely worth doing to save $100, haha.

Mine wanted like, $200, I told them to sit and spin.

Yeah it seems like half the dealers are cool about it and will get it for you for free, and the other half either don't know about this method or they are just looking for an excuse to make money off of you... 'CAUSE KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!

Thanks for the rep.
either method does not always work... which is why some dealers suggest pulling the radio which will always get a result. Obviously try the easier method first. I get about 4-6 calls a week about radio codes. So if you guys need info on it let me know.

Awesome. I suppose you'd have access to the Interactive Network then? I'd be curious to know if that's for all of North America or just for Canada since that's where you are (presumably).
i just took a digital camera and turn on macro and took pictures from bottom and behind of the nav in the trunk and the label was there... the guy on the phone was like yeah you gotta pull your radio...

You're talking about the Nav unit though, I'm talking about the radio serial number, which is a different number. Although I suppose if you pull out the storage compartment in the dash you could try doing the same thing.

I work at an acura dealership in canada (parts manager), so i have access to everything... Certain things i can only do involving canadian models, but navi and radio codes are North Americian. Just let me know if you need info or help.

Cheers,
FOR TSX WITH NAV:

FOR THE NAV: Hold Map, Menu and Cancel for 5 seconds and your nav will enter diagnostics mode. You can get the serial number from one of the menus. Give this to the dealer and they can give you your code.

FOR THE RADIO: Pull out fuse 15 from the fuse box under the hood for about a minute. Replace the fuse, put your key into position 2, and turn on the radio while pressing Seek>> and CD^ and it will give you the serial number. Give this to a dealership and they'll be able to give you your code.

I don't have the non nav TSX so...yeah this is all i got :)

Peace yall!

Paid $150 the day i got my car.... stupid dealership i bought car from was clueless when i asked where my radio code was.... then another dealership "pulled my nav unit" which took an hour and $150

purchase dealership covered the cost so i didnt care at all how much it was
worker at acura said he would do it under the table for $50 but i got no receipt... so i went with the $150 way and invoiced my dealership
I tried this method, but my car returned a serial number of U1000 L1000. I find this number kind of unlikely. Any chance I did something wrong?
10001000 worked when I put it in to Acura's website for security code retrieval.
Use https://radio-navicode.acura.com/ to get your code back if you have your VIN and serial number (and are the original owner of the vehicle).
Stupid question, but did you happen to check your manual? Mine has a card in it with all the info on it. Maybe I was lucky to get a preowned car with the card still in the manual.
This is awesome! Totally needed this.. again.
My navi code and radio code were on a sticker on the left hand side of the outer glove box when you open it!
acura code tsx 2004

My dealer is trying to charge me 300 for this crap. Ridiculous. Id pull it out myself just dont wanns mess anything else up. I have a 2004 tsx if you can help thatd be great. I have no serial number at all just vin.. and i also have no preset buttons and i just tried the other method tonight with the seek and cd button i got nothing back from it. :/
Try opening your glove box and looking on the left side (outside). I had a sticker with info there
