Has anyone succeeded in connecting the Thunderbolt (Verizon 4G phone) through the USB port? It comes up as "unsupported" on my '09 Tech.

I suspect it's the fake CD drive the Thunderbolt creates so that PCs can load up drivers. If the car see's that first vs the nice 32G flash drive then I could understand where the issue is... but how to fix it?

When you plug in the TB, make sure you're selecting "Disk Drive" as the connection type (from the pull down shade), the default is "Charge Only". I only have a 1G TSX but I have a Thunderbolt...

And it works? I've tried setting "disk drive" as the default on USB connect with no luck.
I'll try setting it to "ask" and then select "disk drive".

Setting to "ask" doesn't seem to work either. The USB interface seems fine, as I was able to successfully connect an old 40gig Toshiba Gigabeat player (that happens to be running the Rockbox firmware replacement).

You need to set phone to be seen as a mass storage device
