I got intimidated by another TSX owner

Friday night, I went to Woodfield Mall with my girl to do some shopping and eating. We took the TSX. We ate at Todai buffet and went shopping....then headed to Streets of Woodfield to Gameworks to play some videogames around 9:30PM.

We left Gameworks around 11:45PM, get in the car and turn right on Frontage Rd. to get onto 290. On Frontage I stop at the light at the Woodfield Rd intersection. Then another TSX pulls up besides mines. It was either a black or a carbon grey color, it was hard to see at night, but I looked at the rims and saw the inside of the car and knew it was a TSX. Then this moron starts revving on me!

My gf didn't want me to race, but I felt like teaching this guy a lesson. When the light green I floored it and my car shifted very hard between 3rd and 4th gears.....tranny must be slipping. He was left in the dust, but it wasn't over yet! I slowed down on 290 because I didn't want to scare my girl and I wanted to stay within the speed limit. Then I see these really bright lights behind me. It was the moron intimidating me again! He flashed his high beams and did a ricer fly by. He scared me and my girl! I hate people who do this and I hate ppl who act like ricers!

I don't understand why he would want to put me in danger. :jeffy:

It better not be someone on here cuz I wasn't too thrilled about it neither was my girl. Also, seems my car's tranny is slipping.

I know it wasn't me... I was in Rockford the whole weekend, plus I drive an SSM.
Sounds like that guy's an idiot though...& a sore loser..

Hmm...slipping tranny doesn't sound good. Taking her in to have it checked?
Wasn't me, nor do I ever behave like that..
Joker - who loves the Todai buffet :D
What a coincidence, I went to Woodfield Thursday night and saw a blue TSX pull into the lot.

You'd think TSX drivers are more on the mature side. I hope that incident will be a rare occurance.
I think it was some punk kid, who just got the car and was just showing it off....but why a show off in TSX like that?:donno:

This kid doesn't deserve the TSX if thats how he will drive it!

...so why did you race him?

It takes two to tango, and you chose to be a willing participant. You accepted the challenge, so be prepared to accept the consequences too.

So, if you got to the 3-4 shift, how fast is 3rd at 7000 rpm, and what was the speed limit?

Looks like kiteboy's tangoing too! :D
Dood, it ain't worth it. . . it never is.

TSX does have nice crash ratings but there's no need to test it out for yourself.
The only times I ever got into anything like this, it was by accident.
(No pun......) :D
A few times when I've just been in a hurry, I came off a red light real quick, and the guy next to me got the wrong idea. Whenever that happened, as soon as I realized what was going on, I would just smile and let him go.

:007:

BTW I guess nobody else either has any idea why the code for that smiley is "007"? :donno:
Ok someone please tell me what's the point of racing your same car?

I guess it's a driver's race, not a car's race.

But yeah, like she said, what's the point? :D
I did not race him.....he revved on me and all I did was just launch my TSX while leaving him in the dust. Once I got on the expressway I slowed down to the speed limit. Then he comes driving really fast behind me flashing his high beams and did a ricer fly by.

We were never side by side.

This moron doesn't deserve to own a TSX, if thats how he is going to treat it.
I was living in Chicago till about 1 month ago, then I moved to Crystal Lake. I drive that area, and frequent Woodfield, I drive a carbon gray piece. But I bought the TSX because I am done with the racing BS, I''ve had the mustangs/camaro's/grand national's, I seem to think I am above that now. I enjoy the piece and quiet I get from my vehicle. Sorry, wasn't me. I would grant more respect to my fellow TSX owners. After all, you got a good head on your shoulders to make such a wise purchase.

The stretch of road he's speaking of is an entrance to the expressway so I'm guessing the speed limit is proabably 30mph.

This is also where a lady construction worker was recently run over & killed by a speeding drunk.
Hey, give him a break, this is Agent Chen we're talking about!!

Okay, AC, I guess you better just say I'm sorry, I suck, and I'm never going to do it again.

I think a lot of people would have done what he did, including a lot of us. We might not start a race, but if someone else does, depending on the mood of the moment, we might play along. And hopefully we wouldn't unless it really seems to be completely safe, or as completely safe as it can ever be -- which I'd like to think our man AC did.

But yeah, it would be hard to say he wasn't racing too. And what Gray pointed out makes it extra serious.

the part in bold is racing.

again racing. I don't know where the auto shifts from 3-4 but you said it was floored and over the limit, that to me is racing.

I don't care what you do, hell I would've done the same thing. However you shouldn't be in here saying that he put you and your g/f's lives at risk when YOU raced him.

Quit blaming everything on him. Admit you raced him. If you hadn't floored it he would've been on his way and probably would've been ahead of you so "he" couldn't put your lives at risk.

and my TSX is a 6 speed manual not the automatic.
