I will get a Navi TSX, need Advice

1193 Views 8 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Joker
I have a 1999 BMW 3 Series with 78K miles on.

I want to trade it for a new 05 TSX with Navi, I went to Pasadena Acura, they give me the price of 27800 + Tax, etc (Btw, I am in Southern California)

But they only give my Bimmer a 10K trading value, is that too low???

also they give me 4.99 APR, while I have 740 Credit Score.

Please Let me know whether I can still cut off some price from 27800 and whether I can get better trading value and interest rate???

thx guy, this site is awesome.

Maybe go to a different dealership and see what they say...and maybe even pit the dealerships against each other?

Hello, and welcome to the Club TSXBMW :wavey:

I also was given 4.9%, and have perfect credit. At the time, it was Acura's best rate (that they offered for the TSX). I am guessing this is still the case.
I was at 1.9% on my last car

how much you paid for your TSX, since you are also in SouCal, which dealer did you go?
Glad you like the site!!!

I think the 10K for the trade-in sounds not too far off. I would have guessed somewhat more, like maybe 11K, and I'd suggest you go for that.

(BTW you didn't say which 3-series car, so I'm assuming basically base.)

As maybe a frame of reference, sort of: Last year, a guy on one of these sites was trading in an '01 Acura CL-S with just about the same mileage as your car. His car was probably worth a little more. Assuming yours is base 3-series, the original prices were similar and the cars hold their value about the same, but at the time his car was just 2-3 years old, while yours is 5-6 years old. (I think mileage of a car is a bigger factor than age, but age counts too.) He tried like hell to get as much as he could, and I think he wound up getting 12.5-13K. And he had to run around like crazy to get that. For what it's worth.

Of course a better comparison would be with another BMW, but what the hey, we're Acura guys here. :D

They gave me my TSX for factory invoice, as they bought back an 04 TL from me as a lemon.
I went through Tustin Acura, but will not buy from them again. ;)
So.....anybody else have an idea about the trade-in?

I mean, y'all shouldn't let me have the only vote.

Joker,

What was wrong with your TL? I was seriously considering it when I bought my 05 TSX. I'm still wondering if I made the right choice in choosing the TSX over the TL.
