Sorry, no before pics but it had white letters with a dark blueish background. I didn't like it to much.

Old thread but worth a shot, can you make a diy? The red looks phenomenal! Great work

I relocated the lcd so removing it would be a major pain. It's not that difficult to take apart the screen down to the bare lcd board. You will see the LEDs lined up. You just have to remove them with a soldering iron and replace them with the color of your choice.
If you don't have any soldering experience, I wouldn't recommend this mod.

Only now I see this. I forget the type. I just looked online and compared the different styles of surface mount LEDs.

I found the info. They are 3528 LEDs.
